Norman Vaughan '25

Colonel Norman Vaughan, the last surviving member of Admiral Richard E. Byrd’s 1928-1930 Antarctic expedition, also raced a dog-team in the 1932 Olympic Games, commanded the U.S. Army Air Corp’s sled dog search-and-rescue unit that recovered 100 downed pilots during World War II, and competed in the 1,100-mile Iditarod sled dog race 13 times. He died in Alaska four days after his 100th birthday.

For Spring Break, Students Travel to Belize, the Czech Republic, and Mexico

For Spring Break, Students Travel to Belize, the Czech Republic, and Mexico

March break is here, and many students are heading out on School-sponsored trips. Fifteen students will travel to Belize for the annual service trip organized by the Community Service Board. At Ocean Academy, on the island of Caye Caulker, they will work on school improvement projects and tutor children.

Sarah Lew '14 Wins Awards for Senior Project

Last year for her Senior Project, alumna Sarah Lew '14 made a short film, under the auspices of Brad Moriarty, entitled Dear Family. The film recently won the Hot Shot Award at the Sun Valley Film Festival as well as first place for Best Student Film at the L.A. New Wave International Film Fest. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented Milton alumna!
